Fashion and Fresh Food

Hey all! How have you been?
Me?
Well I've not only been clearing out old junk, I've also been trying to dress in a minimalistic fashion, as you can probably tell from the picture above. I LOVE wearing classy colors, as you can tell by the classy white eyelet peplum and red pencil skirt pictured above.

Well, that's not the only thing that's new this week. I also got a Rocket Blender. Yep!. I've always wanted a personal blender so to be able to buy one for a low price was amazing! With it, I've already begun to make smoothies and Nice Cream-- which isn't actually ice cream because no cow's milk is included. I only used bananas and coconut milk to make the first one and added spinach, mango, banana, and pineapple in the mix.

I froze this little mix overnight and ate it with a spoon this morning.

Accompanying this, I got one of those egg and steak wraps from Starbucks. Yum!!!

I had a full, healthy meal! It felt so good as I'm always running around. As I'm trying to be healthy and cut out more sugar, I'm super excited for this. I'll be posting more recipes soon enough.

Updates

Hello darlings,

Sorry for not responding in a while. I've been doing many, many things. School has me working over time, not to mention my jobs.

Well I guess I should update you on a few things...

1. I took my locs out

I took them out around February because they weren't going to turn out the way I wanted them to. Oh well... I actually love having my hair out. Gives me time to experiment and even press it out.

2. I'm practicing Minimalism

No, I don't mean the fashion trend. (Although I do love the Minimalist Fashion style. You will be seeing it on my blog).
I mean I'm trying to LIVE as a minimalist.
I love clothes. I really do, but I do NOT need all of the ones I have. They've been spilling out of my drawers and I'd rather have some space than a pile of clothes I do NOT need. I've also found a LOT of other things that are better off tossed such as mismatched earrings. Ooh. They've been cluttering on the dresser!
I've also been trying to buy less from this endeavor which is sometimes hard when you like to spend on nice things.

3. Delicious Foods

On another note, this is the year I've begun to try out new foods around where I live. A couple of Thai dessert places have moved in as well as some other yummy food spots and I plan to talk about them as well.

Hairstyles for Locs (Dreadlocks) When You Just Need A Change

1.  Vintage Updo

Do this easy updo by folding a bandana in half, then using the opposite ends to make a knot. After making the knot, put your hair in a high bun or high ponytail (or a low bun or ponytail). * If you have bangs, fold them back and tuck beneath the bandana for a bumped look.

2. Tuck Your Locs in a Hairband

Simply tuck your locs into the headband to achieve said look.

3. A Flower Crown

A simple flower crown will do.
- Combine looks and tuck your loss into a headband and then put a flower crown on top

4.  Double Buns Half Up-do
Decide how big you want the double buns to be (for thicker ones, add an extra section of locs ).

5. Braided Crown

1. Begin to braid the locs on each side of your head (I start where my hair is parted).
2. Where each braid ends, tie it off with a hairband.
3. Use bobby pinks to secure the braids to the back of your head.

Ta-da! Enjoy these 5 hairstyles!

God bless, you guys!

Bohemian Inspiration

'
Hey guys! I'm so sorry this post is so long overdue. I've been so busy with a sudden influx of work.

1. Try a kimono
-- They're light and summery and perfect to get those floral patterns into
2.  Try a long sweater with an aztec print

3. Or a scarf

4. Or just go all out with a scarf and an animal/and or Aztec print

God bless!

Boho Monday

Shirt: Forever 21
Leggings: JC Penney

Hey guys! I hope you're ready for more Bohemian outfits because I'm going to do a whole post shortly after this one (If not the next post, should be the one after).
Anyways, today I sported leggings and a shirt with slits on the sides along with my normal earrings I recycled into loc beads for a cool boho look.
This was a perfect outfit for today because even though it got hotter, this shirt is thin and made of cool material. I also love the slits on the side! ( I wore an undershirt because the slits do come up to above my navel.) Is there a specific name for shirts like these because I like them! It's like wearing a dress but not at the same time.

If you do get a shirt like this, I highly recommend leggings as I wore in the above pictures for an easy, breezy outfit.

Suddenly Geekier

Suspenders! I just got them for my birthday and I love wearing them. They're clip-ons I can put on both pants and skirts. I haven't tried it on skirts yet but I'm excited to try it! I love the sudden level of geekiness it's added to my wardrobe.

Cute!!!
